A Nordic Swan Ecolabelled candle is a candle that has a clean burning because there are limit values for soot emission and content of health- and environmental damaging chemistry. Furthermore the candle consists of more than 90% renewable raw materials.
In this document a candle is a light source consisting of an internal wick, which rises through the centre of a column of solid fuel. Typically the fuel is some form of wax, oil or fat and the two most used fuels are stearin and paraffin. In the following this fuel will be named «raw material».

What does it cost?
When you apply for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, you must pay a fee. Additionally, when you have a certification, you must pay an annual licence fee based on the turnover of the certified product or service.
