A Nordic Swan Ecolabelled hand dishwashing detergent takes account of the environment and the user’s health, while at the same time being at least as effective as other hand dishwashing detergents.
The choice of chemicals and the packaging are environmentally aware, and the use stage and raw material extraction are also taken into account in the requirements.
Nordic Swan Ecolabelled hand dishwashing detergents:
- Meet strict requirements concerning environmentally hazardous chemicals, including requirements on ecotoxicity and biodegradability.
- Meet strict requirements concerning chemicals that are harmful to health, including a ban on the preservative MI and other sensitising substances.
- Are used sparingly to conserve the planet’s resources.
- Have packaging requirements that contribute to a circular economy, for example by addressing packaging design and material choices.

What does it cost?
When you apply for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, you must pay a fee. Additionally, when you have a certification, you must pay an annual licence fee based on the turnover of the certified product or service.
