Nordic Ecolabelling are revising the criteria for windows and external doors and you are welcome to comment on the proposal by August 29th.
The consultation proposal is sent to a wide range of consultative bodies and the input will be used actively in the further work with the requirements.
The most important changes compared to Generation 4 are:
- A common thermal transmittance (U-value) for all wooden windows and doors regardless of impregnation method.
- Removal of the requirement for solar energy transmittance (g-value).
- Updated and tightened requirements for metals, insulation materials and chemicals.
- Stricter requirements for emissions to air from solvent-based impregnation.
- Introduction of a requirement for recycling window glass into new window glass.
- Introduction of requirements to improve material recycling by end-of-life.
- Introduction of a requirement for a warranty of 20 years against wood rot for windows/window doors.
The proposed criteria have been prepared by Nordic Ecolabelling under the leadership of Nordic product manager Anita Øygarden Burgos.
We appreciate your comments, and we kindly ask you to send them to us no later than August 29, 2024, via the submission form on our website, by mail or to post@svanemerket.no. All consultation comments are reviewed, and a summary of the received comments will be available at Ecolabelling Norway.
